Beth Lauren

I’m a writer, director, and producer working across film, memoir, and music-driven storytelling. My work focuses on character-led stories about ambition, love, and the emotional consequences of the lives we choose — and the ones we don’t.

I authored the memoir Reeling: Misadventures in Moviemaking, Money and Love (Boulevard Books), which has been commissioned for feature film adaptation. Iwrote/produced the feature film Fairytale of New York, a romantic drama about the misadventures of a group of Irish expats and the women who loved them. My short films, Getting Ned and Immaculate Concoction have been screened in festivals throughout the US.

I’m currently developing a television project, Life Begins Abroad, about American women like me who choose to reinvent our lives by relocating to a new country on our own. We shoot the pilot in June 2026 in Dublin, London and Madrid.

A feature script I was developing, Wild Wood, I’ve now reimagined as a musical! I’m bringing my filmic sensibility to a live theatrical narrative and working towards getting it into a workshop this year.

Alongside my own projects, I work privately with a limited number of writers, playwrights, and screenwriters, offering script feedback and narrative consulting. My focus is always on helping writers strengthen structure, clarify emotional stakes, and bring their work fully to life on the page.

I’m always glad to connect with fellow writers, directors, and producers who are looking for a script polish or notes. Dialogue is a particular strength.
