Beth Lauren
I'm a producer, director, writer, and strategic storyteller working across film, theatre, memoir, and mission-driven communications. Whether I'm developing a screenplay, shaping a musical, writing a grant proposal, or helping an organization articulate its purpose, my work begins with the same question: What's the story that will make people care?
My creative work explores ambition, love, reinvention, and the emotional consequences of the lives we choose—and the ones we don't.
I authored the memoir Reeling: Misadventures in Moviemaking, Money and Love (Boulevard Books), which has been commissioned for feature film adaptation. I wrote and produced the feature film Fairytale of New York, a romantic drama about the misadventures of a group of Irish expats and the women who loved them. My short films, Getting Ned and Immaculate Concoction, have screened at festivals throughout the United States.
I'm currently developing Life Begins Abroad, an unscripted television series about American women who reinvent their lives by relocating abroad. The pilot is scheduled to shoot in Dublin, London, and Madrid in 2027.
I'm also adapting Wild Wood, originally conceived as a feature film, into an original stage musical inspired by the music of Paul Weller. It brings my cinematic approach to character and storytelling into a live theatrical setting.
Alongside my own creative projects, I advise a select group of nonprofits, founders, writers, playwrights, and producers on narrative strategy and communications. Sometimes that means developing a screenplay or memoir. Sometimes it's helping an organization sharpen its messaging, strengthen a grant proposal, or find the story that inspires people to take action.
I know how vulnerable it is to share work that's still taking shape. Whether it's a first draft, a new campaign, or the early stages of a creative idea, my goal is always the same: to ask the right questions, strengthen what's already there, and help the work become the strongest version of itself.
